Livadeia, Greece

On day 3 we drove towards Delfi. The drive took a long time so we made a small stop as we were hungry, wanted to pee and stretch our legs. We stopped in a small town called Livadeia which was built mountains surrounding the town. We parked the car and went to get some food. We found a small bakery and got some snacks.

Herkynas river flows through the town with its crystal clear water. The river also had many small waterfalls

Old watermill. This one was still in use but probably just to show that it works

Another watermill but not in use

After walking around the town with our snacks, Merli went to one direction and was gone for a long time. Finally we called her as we wanted to start going. She came back and told us to go with her. She had found a really nice park called Piges Krias which in Greek means "crystal springs". We made many pictures there as it was very beautiful.

Kryas Livadeia Springs

Notice the sculpture in the river - might be Bust of Erkina but not sure

Some caves

Water was running between the cracks. The stone wall on the left should be Catalan castle or some part of it. Again, not sure about it as there is not much information about this town. Or at least in English

Stone bridge over the Herkyna river

The weather was quite chilly because, as I mentioned earlier, the area around the town is mountainous.

The water was going through the windows. Guess it had to be a house and then the river took over

Another sights to visit when going to Livadia is the St George Cathedral which I did not take pictures of and Livadia castle which we did not go to.

Those cliffs <3

We would have spent more time in the town but we needed to get going towards Delfi if we wanted to ever reach it. When we started to leave, it was quite hard as Google Maps showed us the way but it lead us to a dead end and only showed us this exit. We were driving around for about 10 min in that small town to get out. Finally Merli got pissed about it and went to the opposite direction from one road which Google Maps showed. From the road Merli took, maps started to work and to show another road. It told us to drive up from one steep hill which e did not drive up as it was wayy too steep. Merli drove a bit further and we found another road which was bit less steep, but still too steep for my liking. I am glad I did not have to drive - I left my driving licence at Serres hahaa.
